Solar Power International Sells Out Exhibit Floor

Return of the Ghostbusters dvd From October 27-29 Solar Power International 2009, the largest business-to-business solar trade event in North America, will welcome more than 900 companies from every part of the solar value chain to a sold-out exhibit floor at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. Co-organizers the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA) and Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) report that the 2009 event will be more than double the size of the 2008 event, in terms of exhibiting companies and the net square footage of the trade show. More than 900 companies will exhibit, reserving a record 203,900 net square feet of floor space. In 2008, Solar Power International had a total of 422 companies occupying 88,000 net sq. ft. of floor space.

Solar Power International has experienced rapid growth in recent years, matching the overall growth of the global solar industry. Exhibition industry news magazine Tradeshow Week recently announced that Solar Power International is among the 50 fastest growing tradeshows of 2009.

Among the presentations at this year’s event is “Solar Materials Innovations: Everything but the Cell,” presented by Dr. Erik Sauar, chief technology officer of REC Group; Dr. JW McCamy, a manager of solar technologies research and development for PPG Industries; and Scott Norquist, business manager in the Renewable Energy Division of 3M. In this session, the audience will learn about films, coatings, glass and other solar material innovations, as well as what’s coming and what’s missing.
